Great one lines from film

Here is a great collection of one-liners from feature films, curated by the Wordivo review team. Bet you know two, or three!

There’s just no telling how far I’ll go. - Moana

You know how everyone’s always saying, ‘Seize the moment’? I don’t know, I’m kinda thinkin’ it’s the other way. Like the moment seizes us. - Boyhood

The more you know who you are, and what you want, the less you let things upset you. - Lost in Translation

You control your destiny – you don’t need magic to do it. And there are no magical shortcuts to solving your problems. - Brave

Don’t ever let somebody tell you you can’t do something, not even me. Alright? You dream, you gotta protect it. People can’t do something themselves, they wanna tell you you can’t do it. If you want something, go get it. Period. - The Pursuit of Happyness

Today is a good day to try. - The Hunchback of Notre Dame

There should be no boundaries to human endeavour. We are all different. However bad life may seem, there is always something you can do, and succeed at. While there’s life, there is hope. - The Theory of Everything (and Stephen Hawking IRL)

Everything that made that giant tree is already contained inside this tiny little seed. All it needs is some time, a little bit of sunshine and rain, and voila! Now, you might not feel like you can do much now, but that’s just because, well, you’re not a tree yet. You just have to give yourself some time. You’re still a seed. - A Bug’s Life

Quotes coined for book lovers

If you are one of those people who always have a book in hand, then you will love these quotes curated by the Wordivo review team which celebrate everything books have to offer.

My brain is proudly powered by books.

Start reading books, and you will stop complaining about your life. Or the other way around.

The web is full of wrong answers. Books are full of right questions.

Movies are the keyhole. Books are the key.

We have to improve books if we want books to improve us.

Prove you are a human. Read books.

A book is like a cold drink vending machine on an endless desert of information overload.

An audiobook is your mind reading a book in a nice voice.

Except books, no existing technology is capable of taking you through time and space.

If you want to move the world, move your finger to the book-reading app and tap once.

Reading is an act of selfless help to oneself.

A book is a login to an exciting world, no password required.

Nobody can force you to read, just like nobody can force you to breathe.

The only space you have to reserve for books should be inside your brain.

Great comedies to watch now

Looking for a bit of humour to cheer up your mood? Look no further than this collection of great comedies to watch now, curated by the Wordivo review team.

Moxie

After discovering her mom’s protest-packed punk past and watching the new girl stand up for herself against a harassing jock, a shy 16-year-old (Hadley Robinson) starts an anonymous zine to call out gender inequality, sexism, toxic masculinity, and institutional patriarchy. This subsequently riles up her classmates, makes the school’s faculty (played by Ike Barinholtz and Marcia Gay Harden) uncomfortable, and catches the eye of a cute woke boy.

The King’s Man

Decades before Harry Hart (Colin Firth) plucked teen malcontent Eggsy (Taron Egerton) from the streets and taught him how to take down bad guys and gals with an umbrella and a perfectly tailored suit, a collection of well-dressed soldiers led by Ralph Fiennes teamed up to create the first independent intelligence agency, The Kingsman. Their goal? To stop history’s malevolent masterminds from joining forces to plot a global war.

Vacation Friends

Vacations are for letting loose and trying new things. And that’s exactly what buttoned-up Marcus (Lil Rel Howery, who is having quite the moment in 2021, with at least six projects on the schedule) and Emily (Insecure‘s Yvonne Orji) do during their romantic retreat to Mexico after connecting with party animals Ron (Jon Cena) and Kyla (Meredith Hagner). It turns out to be the temporary pressure release they had no idea they needed. But a few months later, after they’ve returned to their normal everyday lives, the crazy couple pops up suddenly and they fear they can’t run from the border debauchery they committed. Streaming on Hulu this spring.

Great classic films to watch now

Looking to sit down with a good movie to take your mind off things? Then choose one of these great American films, selected by the Wordivo review team, and get your popcorn popping!

Lost in Translation by Sofia Coppola

A world-weary young woman whose marriage is crumbling meets a world-weary older movie star, and the two help prop up each other as they attempt to navigate the unfamiliar world and culture of Tokyo. Theirs is a story of never-to-be-requited love.

Jaws by Steven Spielberg

It's easy to see why this was the first mega-blockbuster — it's an elemental story of man vs. nature, and nature has a lot of very sharp teeth. Spielberg tapped into many of our deepest fears, and few people have ever felt entirely safe in the ocean ever since.

Raiders of the Lost Ark by Steven Spielberg

Spielberg took every thrilling moment from 1940s action films and made them even better. With his tongue planted ever so firmly in his cheek, Harrison Ford stars as the dashing archaeologist hero.

DIY Was Due For a Comeback Before The Pandemic

With stay at home orders still in place for many, it seems like the whole world has turned to DIY to pass the time. Be it sourdough bread baking, sewing masks, or anything else, it seems like DIY has made a major comeback! But you know what? DIY was due for a comeback before the pandemic anyway. Here’s why:

You can’t beat custom. It seems like anything you could ever want is now available with little more than a few clicks. But sometimes, you don’t want something that’s easily accessible and mass manufactured, you want something made just for you. And who knows what you like better than you do? That being the case, there’s certainly an argument to do it yourself!

Information is easy to find. Thanks in no small part to streaming video sites like YouTube and Vimeo, there’s no shortage of instructional videos out there that can show you how to make anything and everything. These videos were around long before the pandemic, and they were certainly getting a lot of attention even then.

Gig work is the new norm. Workers were increasingly turning to gig work as opposed to long term careers before the pandemic, and with the added flexibility many could focus more time on their DIY projects, with some even turning them into an additional source of income.

Looking for the ultimate in entertainment? Visit our online library at Wordivo for a wide variety of ebooks, audiobooks, music, and more. Accessible anytime, anywhere, from your favorite devices.
